Burt H. Liebowitz has more than 30 years experience as a technical leader and senior executive developing sophisticated computer-based telecommunications and transaction processing systems for government and industry. For the past six years Mr. Liebowitz has focused on the development of IP networking services and products over satellite. He is currently consulting for several clients, helping them develop satellite-based content delivery systems.
Previously Mr. Liebowitz was President and Chief Operating Officer of NetSat Express Inc., a leading provider of satellite-based Internet services to ISPs and corporations around the world. He was responsible for day-to-day operations, and for developing the business models defining NetSat’s future growth. Before that he was Chief Technical Officer for Loral Orion, (now Cyberstar) a Europe/U.S.A. satellite common carrier, responsible for the development of Internet-over-satellite access products He led an international team of software developers and system analysts in creating a new multiple access satellite-networking product. He was also responsible for developing and acquiring technology for Orion’s Network Operations Center.
Mr. Liebowitz has presented seminars on IP networking over satellite to numerous organizations in the United States and Europe. He holds three patents related to satellite networking. He has written two books on computer networking and has written several papers on IP networking over satellite.
